Welcome to my practice! I am a California-licensed clinical psychologist, and I provide weekly individual and couples therapy to adults. I am specialized in treating experiences which include but are not limited to: complex trauma, depression, anxiety, self esteem issues, relationship issues, family conflict, parenting, identity development, cultural adjustment, life transitions, spirituality, and existential distress. As a Queer Haitian-American clinician with experience living both in the US and abroad, I am particularly passionate about working with people of color, immigrants, children of immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community.
I began my work and training at Paris Descartes University in France, and concluded my studies with a doctorate of clinical psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. My over 12 years of clinical experience have included working with children and families with histories of trauma in various Bay Area schools as well as San Francisco General Hospital. I have also spent time working in community mental health settings and a group private practice providing care to adults and transitional age youth. Prior to starting my private practice, I served for three years as the Director of Assessment Services at the Wright Institute Clinical Services, where I trained and supervised doctoral-level graduate students in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and insight-oriented. It is also trauma-informed, Psychodynamic, and rooted in principles of Healing Justice. I aim to empower my clients by helping them build bridges between the past and the present, using the therapy relationship as a means of understanding internal patterns, and what may be keeping those patterns in place. This, in turn, leads to deeper self-awareness, paving the way for growth and the possibility of new ways of being and relating to the world.
In my work with clients, I take into account the whole person and their potential for growth, helping them to get in touch with their own inner wisdom in order to move towards change. I hold my clients in the context of their individual identities, and I consider the impact that experiences related to intergenerational trauma and systemic oppression have on mental/emotional/spiritual health and development. My goal is to support you as you find your voice, reclaim ownership of your story, and stand more confidently in your own personal power.
Through therapy, I hope to guide you in the process of building greater self-understanding and self-compassion, and in developing ways of thinking, feeling, and relating that are more authentic and aligned. This can put you on the path towards becoming more fully yourself, living in a more joyful, integrated way, and feeling empowered to live the life that you dream of.
